Our Story

Dhanak means a "Rainbow" — and this is what the brand represents, a harmonious culmination of beautiful colors and thoughtfully chosen fabrics. The idea of Dhanak originated from the founder's deep love for exquisite textiles, traditional printing techniques, and vibrant color stories.

Established in 2025, Dhanak is rooted in craftsmanship. Our linen and cotton fabrics are thoughtfully sourced from India, a place where generations of skilled artisans have mastered the art of block printing and Ikat weaving. Each piece of fabric is handpicked, honoring the heritage and hands behind it.

Every lampshade is then crafted using pleated and gathered techniques by artisans who bring these textiles to life. The result is a collection that feels warm, expressive, and unmistakably handmade.

Our vision is simple: to offer lampshades that are vibrant, unique, and accessible — pieces that brighten your home and carry a story. With Dhanak, we hope you welcome a little piece of our rainbow into your space.

OUR TEAM

We’re a brother and sister duo who somehow ended up living on different continents — and instead of letting that pull us apart, it pushed us to create something together. Think of it as our long-distance sibling project: equal parts heart, hustle, and “Can you check this fabric on your end?”

From opposite sides of the world, we manage everything as a team: picking fabrics, choosing prints, debating colours, arranging logistics, and occasionally arguing about who’s online at weird hours. It’s chaotic in the best way.

Born in India, we fell in love with Block and Ikat prints ages ago — the kind of love that sticks. So we decided to give these beautiful, traditional designs a new shape and a new life. And that’s how our lampshades were born: little pops of colour, tiny rainbows of joy, carrying a slice of home and a sprinkle of sibling magic.
